Local Authorities - Vision

Features of MIAP will be integrated into key partner programmes including:

- 14-19 Diplomas
- Skills Accounts
- Apprenticeship Matching
- Qualifications & Credit Framework
- Education Maintenance Allowance
- Offender Learning.

MIAP will also be achieving the following::

  • More than 90% of all 14 year old learners in English State Schools are already registered with the LRS for a Unique Learner Number.
  • By 2011, when all areas have developed capacity to deliver the new Diplomas and QCF is fully deployed, over 80% of all Learning Providers, Information Advice & Guidance functions, such as Connexions in England, will regularly be using the Learner Record
  • From 2007 to 2010, there will be an increasing level of efficiency gains within the sector enabled by MIAP.  By 2010, MIAP’s financial benefits exceed costs.
  • MIAP will make it easier for Local Authorities to identify learners resident in other Local Authorities.
