Raising the Profile of MIAP in higher education
MIAP is actively talking to the HE sector regarding the Learner Registration Service, Unique Learner Number and the Learner Record.
Lynne Thomas, Implementation Consultant for MIAP, who is driving our activity in the HE sector, is recruiting a representative group of universities to become early users of the Learner Registration Service, which generates the ULN. She is also establishing an Advisory Group for the HE sector.
The ULN has been available to schools, post-16 education providers and universities in all UK administrations since February this year. As a result MIAP now has over 2 million registered learners over the age of 14 with a ULN. So a significant proportion of students applying to universities this summer will already have one.
A ULN field has already been established in both the HESA and UCAS datasets to record this information.
Lynne is keen to highlight that “The MIAP programme will deliver tangible benefits across the education sector including the HE sector."
