Schools - Vision
More than 90% of all 14 year-old learners in English state schools already have a Unique Learner Number (ULN).
Use of the ULN will support the principle of “Collect Once, Use Many Times, Use By All”, and allow State and Private schools to:
- Contribute to a life long record of all post-14 participation and achievement for every learner,
- Reduce the burden of bureaucracy on learners, data providers, and other organisations as well as themselves
- Find out how their pupils progress after they have left school
- Enable the provision of:
- accurate and timely learner information (anonymous and not);
- accurate and timely learning provider information;
- improved and tailored services to learners;
